Hello There!

Hi everyone, well I have to say I am much worse than Lou at keeping up with this blogging malarky. Well here we are, here I am, here's what I've managed to get up to over the weekend. I don't usually do a supplies list but here goes my first one.

Cardstock - Stampin Up - Certainly Celery and Ruby Red. Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder, Magnolia - Christmas Edwin stamp and Stampin Up punches. Oooooh and some stickles that Lou gave me a while ago to accentuate the embossed snowflakes.

Here's another similar one cos I liked the first, prefer the paper used on this one though, forgot to add that to my supplies list by the way, it's DCWV Christmas Stack from a couple of years ago.

Here are another couple again using the DCWV Christmas stack, I wasn't too sure about the one on the left at first which was the first one I did but it's really grown on me now and I really like it. The second one was a bit of trial and error. I used the Poinsetta stamp from The Season of Joy set, you can't see it very well but the DCWV dp has little poinsettia on it and the greeting says Season's Greetings. Anyone have any tips on how to take the pics of cards without any glare gratefully received.

Am Gutted!!!

I can't bloody believe it, today I thought to myself I know I'll post on my blog my lovely little mini book that I've done and a few other bits, went to take pictures and the camera wouldn't work properly, changed the batteries and it still won't work properly. What will I do??? It will allow you to go in to view the pictures already on the camera and change the settings but won't take pics or record video. OMG!!! Can you bloody believe it!!! Anyone know any good camera shops in the area that might be able to have a look at it?

Crafty Comeback!!

Well here is this mornings creation, I am in love with Magnolia stamps, can't get enough of them, we had a good old stamp swop at Lou's house last night, everyone stamped up a few of my collection and Carol brought her collection, now we've all got loads to crack on with colouring in!!!
I coloured this one using Stampin Up Watercolour Crayons and an SU Blender pen, they are both ab fab. Card is Whisper white and Pale Plum - Stampin Up and the DP is American Crafts. I used Louise's nestabilities, some SU punches and a stamp from the Circle of Friendship collection.
I like how Louise includes the supplies that she uses in the pictures of her creations, so I thought I'd give it a go!! Need a bit of practice though I think!! Will have to get some batteries for the camera before I practice because I borrowed the ones out of the Sky remote so I had to rush to take the pic so I could get the batteries back in otherwise it resets itself and you have to re-enter the codes and stuff!!!
I also like how a lady on one of the blogs that I stalk puts on a close up of the focus of her card, I did try to do this but I just got alot of glare, some more practice required here too one thinks!!!

Hi there, it's been a while since I posted on my blog, as you've probably read it's not been a particularly nice time for our family recently. We lost my Great Uncle on my Dads side at the end of May, then we lost my Grandad middle of June which was an extremely sad time then on Thursday morning this week another Great Uncle on my mums side passed away. I can't believe it, I hope the deaths have stopped now, please stop taking all of the good ones away!!!

Well on a lighter note myself and my crafting buddies had a get together at Lou's last night, I didn't leave until midnight, got to bed at 1am and then the little one had me up at 8 o'clock which usually would be a lovely time, but today i prayed for an after 9 and it didn't happen!!!

So my crafty flair has returned, I'll post this mornings creation in a min!!!!

In Memory of Frankie!

He Simply was 'The Best'
It's a very sad time for our family and also the rest of the village at the moment. We sadly lost my Grandad Frank on Monday night, it was very sudden and such a shock for everyone, my poor grandma is going to be lost without him, mind you I think a lot of people are. He was well known and also very well respected, he was everyone's best friend and will be sorely missed!!!

It all started when he fell on Tuesday last week, he was carrying some ladders round to his friend Dennis' to help him cut some branches from his tree when he slipped on the dewy lawn, the paramedics took him to hospital because they thought he'd cracked some ribs and punctured his lungs, but he hadn't he was fine just a bit bruised inside, in fact a lot bruised inside but it was such a relief that he was ok. He laid up for a week which was pain enough in itself for such a fit and active man, there was no way did he have the body of or act like a 71 year old.

He spent so much time looking after everyone, walking the family dogs and volunteering his time to the local football club Frickley Athletic, everyone else always came first with our Frankie.

Suddenly on Monday night after becoming a bit more active after his week of convalescing and everyone looking after him he took a turn for the worse, the coroner returned that it was a DVT that took such a wonderful mans life. The only consolation our family can take from this devastating event is that it happened quickly and he did not suffer, although I'm not sure at the moment which is worse, having someone taken from you like that or watching someone suffer.

Well I'll keep you posted on happenings and arrangements, I think it'll help me to talk about him here, if no one minds listening.

Will post again soon.

At Home Convalescing!!

Hi there, I'm ill.

Have caught a stomach bug from my little boy, it's been flitting around him and his friends and now it's decided to inhabit my body! I started to feel a bit rough yesterday (Sunday) it felt a bit like a hangover but I was sure I wasn't hungover, I went to bed feeling dodgy, had stomach cramps and generally felt unpleasant. Then suddenly at around 5 thirty this morning I realised it wasn't a hangover. That's probably all the detail you need to know!!!

So I've been convalescing at home, I've managed to take pictures of a few cards I made at the weekend, Louise challenged me to make 10 cards using my Magnolia stamps so here's no's 1-4.

Hopefully this bug will find another unwilling tummy soon and I'll be able to crack on with the rest.

This Weekend!

Louise planted this seed in my head last week after she made one using her Magnolia collection. It's a challenge from the SplitCoast website. I thought I'd make one using Pick a Petal stamp set which is great. I made a smaller box than Lou's and made 4 cards to go in it!

Final card of last weeks Lou challenge!!!

Here's the final card of my challenge from Lou last week, I did manage to get it all done last weekend but have on ly just had chance to get on here and upload.

I thought I'd try a man card, everyone I know struggles with man cards. Why dont we just give them flowers etc???

21 April 2008

I have completed my challenge. Early. Whoop whoop. I made a manly card for my final one yesterday but i took it into work today and forgot to photograph it so I'll get a photie and upload it later. Am so proud of myself. Come on Lou Lou challenge me again!!!!

20 April 2008

And here is number 2. (I kind of copied one of Lou's that she showed me yesterday, I'm sure she won't mind. She is very creative.)

Well then are you impressed, deadline of a week and I get most of the challenge completed in less than a day.

Lou's Challenge

Yesterday my friend and scrap buddy Louise challenged me to make 3 cards using the magnolia stamps of hers that I stamped up yesterday and my DCWV Spring glitter cardstock. She wanted them on the blog by next Saturday. I woke at 6 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so thought I know what I'll do, crack on with my challenge.

So here they are, well two of them anyway. I'm about to get ready to go to work at the rugby for my mother in law so I'll be making the 3rd one when I return at tea time.

On A Roll

Goodness am on a roll tonight!!!! The girls will be so proud! Although I did copy this idea from a lady on the Stampin Up site, I do hope she doesn't mind!

Scrapbook In Progress

I started this book a while ago, I thought that if I posted this pic it would encourage me to get on with finishing it so that I can show you the final product!

The Long Awaited First Post

Well it's finally here, my friends Lou and Carol have been waiting ages for this post. My blog has been live without any posts for about 6 months now. Well here we go!!! I even have a pic of a card I made this evening to attach.
